Gurudas Kamat takes over as Minister of State for Home Affairs

Email StoryEmail Story Write to the editorWrite to the editor Print StoryPrint Story New Delhi, Jan 20: Gurudas Kamat today assumed charge as Minister of State for Home Affairs.He was a Minister of State in the Telecom Ministry before the cabinet reshuffle effected by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday.Kamat, who is a five-time Congress MP from Mumbai, later called on Home Minister P. Chidambaram, apart from interacting with his ministry's officials.Kamat, a law and business management graduate, is an advocate and an agriculturalist. He represents the Mumbai North-West Constituency in the Lok Sabha. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Mumbai in 1984. (IANS)
