ULFA top leadership announces talks with Centre

Guwahati: The central committee of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) announced today that it has decided to hold talks with the Centre. The talks would begin on February 10.

"Every killing from ULFA's side and government's side is wrong," ULFA's publicity secretary Mithinga Daimary said in a presser.

Paving the way for possible talks with ULFA, its chairman Rajib Rajkonwar alias Arabinda Rajkhowa was recently released on bail to facilitate dialogue.

ULFA's self-styled vice chairman Pradip Gogoi, deputy commander-in-chief Raju Baruah, cultural secretary Pranati Deka and publicity secretary Mithinga Daimary were also earlier released on bail, as also senior leader and political ideologue Bhimkanta Buragohain.
